Jennifer Lopez definitely has everything now – with her soaring career, a net worth of over $300 million, 11-year-old twins, and a supportive beau by her side, what more could she ask for?
The multi-hyphenate singer has become an icon not just for the Latin-Americans, but for the whole world as well, proving that talent can come from anywhere, even from a poor Puerto Rican family in the Bronx.
The iconic J. Lo, with more than three decades in the performing industry, built her own empire in the show business proving she can be anything, from being a blockbuster royalty to an international pop star.
That’s why when her boyfriend of two years and professional baseball player, Alex Rodriguez, proposed to her, he didn’t just settle for any ring, he found the best rock for his Jenny from the Block.
Several reports are claiming that J. Lo’s new engagement ring is worth between $1 to $5 million! Now, that is definitely a massive amount compared to what she had while growing up.
A-Rod popped the question during their romantic getaway at the beach of Bahamas early this month.
The former New York Yankees player and three-time American League MVP proposed to the actress-singer during a quiet walk on the beach at sunset – a simple yet dreamy proposal that J. Lo had always wanted.
But the ring made up for the simplicity of the proposal: an emerald-cut sparkler that was reportedly from a prominent jewelry shop in Knightsbridge, London.
The J.Rod, a moniker for the couple given to them by their fans, announced the engagement in explosive Instagram photos of the stunning ring as well as Rodriguez kneeling down during the proposal.
Together, both photos raked in over 10 million likes with congratulatory messages pouring in from fans around the world.
Colorless, Emerald-cut Diamond Ring
The couple was seen in Manhattan after the proposal with future Mrs. Rodriguez sporting her new rock — a colorless emerald-cut diamond from 10 to 25 carats with superb clarity, according to varying reports.
The rock is held in place by eagle claws on a platinum band. According to Ira Weissman, The Diamond Pro founder, with the diamond’s exquisite cut and clarity, it is definitely best to have less embellishment and decor around the stone for it to really shine.
She also said that the timelessness of the ring really complements its new owner, Jennifer Lopez, 49, who is known as a classic Hollywood beauty.
The solitaire ring is from Samer Halimeh, one of the most-sought-after jewelers and who has several celebrity clients including international supermodel Naomi Campbell, media mogul Oprah Winfrey, singer-songwriter Sir Elton John, as well as influential and powerful families from Middle Eastern countries.
Made for Each Other
The romance between the ballplayer and the Latina superstar started in February 2017 but their love story goes way back to 2005 when Lopez’s then-husband Marc Anthony threw the first pitch for the New York Mets game.
Cameras caught the moment J. Lo and A-Rod met for the first time, although, at the time nobody could have thought that it would have such a massive impact on the singer’s life.
But more than a decade later, their friendship evolved into love and they emerged as a picture-perfect couple. But even before that, Rodriguez shared on Instagram in October 2018 a picture of a poster of his now-fiancé that was signed two decades ago, proving that the retired Yankee player is a long-time fan of the I’m Real singer.
Back in 2017, during their Vanity Fair interview for one of the first cover stories about them as a couple, the J-Rod revealed that they are compatible in many ways.
Aside from coming from humble beginnings in New York with immigrant parents, both being Latin-Americans, and sharing the same zodiac sign, they also reached fame and success at a rapid pace and had a bumpy road while fighting for their dreams, all of which may probably have led them to each other.
Before the two became one of Hollywood’s cutest couples, each had failed marriages with two kids – Lopez has her twins, Emme and Max, with Anthony and had been divorced twice previously, while Rodriguez and ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, who share two daughters Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10, filed for divorce in 2008.
Scurtis accused A-Rod of being emotionally unavailable and having extra-marital affairs, but the retired baseball player denied all accusations.
