“They belong to the same hand but each has its own print. It’s rightfully said that every finger is different.”
This philosophy applies to most families as well. Despite having the same upbringing and environment, two people coming from the same family can be completely different from each other. At times, they can be as opposite as the two sides of the same coin, just like Prince Harry and Prince William.
You don’t need glasses to spot the differences between Harry and William’s personalities. And historian Robert Lacey’s new book, Battle of Brothers: William, Harry and the Inside Story of a Family in Tumult, only substantiates how diverse the siblings are.
Lacey’s shocking claim – “William threw Harry out”
As per the updated version of Lacey’s book, Meghan Markle was the primary reason behind the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William.
As shocking as that may sound, the historian states that the older prince wasn’t happy with the quick pace at which Harry and Meghan’s relationship was moving.
But he managed to keep his calm, and by the time the younger prince took his vows, things seemed to have improved a bit. Then in October 2018, when William learned that the staff at Kensington Palace had filed a bullying complaint against Meghan, he was agitated beyond words.
William then confronted Harry on the issue, but unfortunately, the discussion turned into a “fierce and bitter” argument. Post the fight, William was sure he didn’t want to share the household or the joint office with Harry and Meghan, and thereafter, if we Lacey’s friend’s comment is to be believed, “William threw Harry out.”
The futile effort to patch up
When reports of Meghan bullying Kensington Palace staffers emerged, her office denied them with full fervor. Sensing that the situation could easily get out of hand, the Buckingham Palace took over and announced that it would investigate the matter to find out the truth.
According to the book, William initially called Harry to inquire about the subject, but the younger prince defended his wife with all his might. Eventually, when Harry angrily disconnected the call, the Duke of Cambridge decided to meet him in person. The effort went in vain though since the meeting didn’t go smoothly and ended up worsening their relationship.
As per the biographer’s claims, Kate Middleton was skeptical about Meghan from the beginning, and William was no different. Though they wanted to believe differently, when the allegations made by the staffers came to light, they were sure their hunches were spot-on. Lacey also didn’t fail to mention that the staffers at Kensington Palace felt overpowered by Meghan and they weren’t able to handle her.
An attempt to move on – the Princes’ upcoming project
Although both William and Meghan’s offices have declined to comment on Lacey’s book, fans can expect their reaction in the coming month. On July 1, 2021, the brothers are supposed to reunite to unveil the statue of their late mother, Princess Diana. Hopefully, during that event, we’ll get some information about where their relationship stands at the moment.
