However another royal expert, Tom Bower, also asserts the same thing. The Duchess of Sussex is money-obsessed, the royal author claims. And she had imagined that her husband was worth millions – if not billions. But against her expectations, Prince Harry had “very little money.”
Furthermore, the royal expert goes on to explain how Prince Harry inherited some money from his mother Princess Diana. But the couple quickly realized it was not enough to support the lifestyle he wanted.
He then resorted to cutting back on expenses and asking his father Prince Charles for help. Both of which Meghan was allegedly unaware of prior to their marriage.
The Duke and Duchess have since taken steps to become more financially independent, setting up a multi-million dollar charitable foundation in 2019. And signing lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.
However, it is clear that the royal couple still faces financial challenges, something Meghan Markle has now experienced firsthand. Whether Prince Harry and Meghan will be able to overcome these challenges remains to be seen.
