Hello Bello
The latest to have launched their line are “Frozen” star Kristen Bell and comedian husband Dax Shepard. Apart from being impressive and convincing thespians, what immediately comes to mind when you hear their names? Parenting. This is because they have been known to killing it as a mother and father duo to daughters Lincoln and Delta.
Raising kids is hard but somehow they know how to make it seem easy by turning things light and humorous, which most fans will agree with. They also don’t miss out on opportunities to share their antics on social media with fans coupled with an honest representation of some of the challenges and hardships in their married life, which they don’t shy away from.
Now, their latest endeavor is a plant-based baby line called Hello Bello, which is exclusively available in Walmart. Bell promises that the products are not only affordable but of premium quality, which she and her husband assure they would also use with their own kids.
In an interview, the couple revealed that they spent two years perfecting their products, but everything is worth it because they were super thrilled with the way everything turned out.
The actress admitted that she is a label-reader – she reads everything in the labels like the ingredients that were used – just to be safe for her kids. Their products range from diapers, wipes, bubble bath, bug spray, shampoo and body wash, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, and much more.
Criticisms
As much as their intentions of bringing a toxic-free baby line that can be afforded by the mass are good, their decision to launch their line exclusively at Walmart was met with criticisms.
Bell and Shepard stand behind their plant-based products a hundred percent but fans lamented that the couple should not have opted for the retail giant after it faced backlash amidst reports of low wages for its employees. So, a lot of people wondered why the influential power couple has partnered with the store since the store is facing a lot of criticisms regarding its business practices.
In response to one commenter who penned a scathing message targeted to her and Shepard, Bell explained that she had done ample research prior to the partnership. “The Good Place” actress also defended Walmart by saying that the company was one of the first few that asked manufacturers to use non-toxic dyes, or else they wouldn’t sell the clothes.
Lastly, she said that they wanted to work with a brand that could help people from all walks of life afford their products due to their manufacturing excellence.
Jessica Alba’s Honest Company
Meanwhile, Bell and Shepard aren’t the only celebrities who have dipped their toes into the baby products’ market. Jessica Alba decided to launch her eco-friendly line called The Honest Company many years ago after realizing that there were no toxic-free products available anywhere.
Since its release, her brand’s product line has expanded to skincare, hair products along with other household products. It has endured a rollercoaster ride since inception – the company was once valued at $1.7 billion before suffering from product malfunctions, recalls and customer lawsuits.
Indeed, safe, toxin-free baby products have become a profitable niche in the past few years. Since more and more parents are educating themselves about what should be or shouldn’t be used for their loved ones, it is a small wonder that this particular market segment is seeing a tremendous boom.

1. Formaldehyde
This preservative is used with water-based products to prevent the growth of mold – formaldehyde can be added directly onto the product or be released by another preservative. However, it is also known to be a carcinogen or a substance that causes cancer.
