A wise man once said, life isn’t about getting and having; it’s about giving and being. TBH, we couldn’t agree more!
Every now and then, we come across headlines about celebrities earning massively from their recent gigs or business ventures. But only once in a blue moon do we hear that someone came forward for the needy and underprivileged ones. Guess October 23, 2021, was one such day!
A few weeks back, Gwen Stefani made a humongous contribution to a Las Vegas children’s charity and won over everyone’s hearts. The Rich Girl singer took this step to help the little munchkins of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, who were awaiting funds for their treatments.
A woman of her word!
On June 27, 2018, while opening her Planet Hollywood residency, Stefani took a bold step and vowed to give back to society. The Hollaback Girl songstress promised she would donate $1 for every ticket sold to the Gwen Stefani – Just A Girl residency, and now, three years down the line, she has kept her promise.
Recently, the 52-year-old donated $185,000 to the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, which provides medical facilities to children suffering from life-threatening diseases like cancer, etc.
Once a giver, always a giver…
Surprisingly, this wasn’t Stefani’s first initiative towards the nonprofit organization. She’s been investing in its betterment since she laid the foundation of her residency, and each penny of hers has helped them provide better facilities to the children present there. For instance, the foundation has moved from its old location to an ultra-modern building. Plus, it has also built a unique themed patient exam room in honor of the singer. Not only this, it has even awarded Stefani with “The Kids Foundation Philanthropist of the Year” award in 2019 for being so generous and kind.
At that moment, Stefani called the organization inspiring and was quoted saying that she never thought she would be able to help children. However, she was happy that her music gave her that opportunity and stage to be able to be there for others and bring change into their lives. The Spiderwebs lead even stated that she feels incredible that her passion for music is benefitting people and giving them a chance they never had.
A quick update on Stefani’s residency
Stefani’s residency was supposed to end by spring 2020. However, the pandemic emerged, and the singer had to postpone eight of her shows till further notice. Luckily, now she’s back in Vegas and performing as usual, and her final show is scheduled for November 6, 2021. Lately, when she was questioned about how she felt about performing after a long break, Stefani said she didn’t want to leave her house. The newly married explained that she loves staying at home, and to go to work was a bit of a challenge for her.
