Justin Timberlake is a total beast in the gym- and if you’ve seen his latest movie, you’d know why.
Last year, the actor and musician, 39, leveled up the intensity of his muscle-adding workout for a role as a former high school football star turned con artist in the brand new Apple TV movie. Palmer hit Apple+ about a week ago and spotlighted the streaming platform’s highest watched weekend yet.
Timberlake’s Efforts in the Gym
Timberlake’s aim was to increase to the tune of 15 pounds through intense weightlifting, with the tireless aid of celebrity trainer Ben Bruno. The coach, who has worked with several NBA players and stars such as Chelsea Handler and Kate Upton, pays special accolade to Timberlake’s commitment to delivering to the best of his ability.
According to the fitness professional, Timberlake attends the gym all year round but, to achieve the goal he sought to reach for the movie, he significantly enhanced his training.
Just ahead of the movie’s release, Bruno took to Instagram to share a video praising the actor for his dedication and hard work.

Timberlake pushes up a barbell weighing 120 pounds in the video. He slowly lowers it to his shoulders and repeats it 6 times on each side. Bruno explained to People that the actor uses a 120-pound eccentric mine press, which is very powerful. He also revealed that any of the professional athletes he has trained so far still can’t beat it, and neither could he.
Watching Timberlake’s attack, his goal was “really fun”, confessed Bruno. He added that it’s really nice to see a guy in Justin’s stature expressing this kind of commitment and effort. In his mind, it doesn’t matter who he is. He walks in knowing you can’t buy results in the gym and that you have to work for it.
Following Bruno’s post, Timberlake reshared the video, thanking the coach for his help. He also thanked the trainer for pushing him to be ready for the movie and for helping him achieve his goals.
What Else is Up in His Life?
2020 was a particularly busy year for Timberlake. Besides being caught up in shoots for Palmer and releasing new music, he welcomed his second son, Phineas, with his wife, Jessica Biel. Big brother Silas, 5, was more than ready for the new addition to the family.
In an interview recently, Timberlake said that tries to consciously give his kids a normal childhood and not like the children of two big stars.
