Tiger Woods’ Health Update
Tiger Woods’ team released a statement on February 24, 2021, notifying fans that he’d suffered from an accident and was recovering. The statement revealed that Woods had gone through a lengthy surgical procedure on his lower right leg and ankle at Harbor-UCLA Medical Hospital.
A brief explanation by Dr. Anish Mahajan, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Harbor-UCLA Medical Hospital, disclosed that the upper and lower portions of Tiger’s tibia and fibula bones were broken into multiple pieces, and a rod insertion was necessary to stabilize them.
The foot bones and ankle also needed the support of screws and pins. Tiger’s team revealed that he was awake and responsive and is recovering at a smooth pace. The statement concluded with a thanking note to the doctors, hospital staff, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and Fire Department for their outstanding support.
Four days after the accident, another statement released by Woods’ team revealed that he had successfully received the follow-up procedures at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. It also disclosed that he was in good spirits and continued to recover. On behalf of the golfer and his family, the team thanked supporters for their warm wishes and support.

Woods’ car accident resulted in heartfelt responses from many famous personalities, including former U.S. president Barack Obama. While praying for the golfer and his family, Obama wished him a speedy recovery.
The PGA TOUR also released a statement extending support to Woods and his family and prayed for his quick recovery. Jack Nicklaus, a retired golf player, tweeted that he and his wife were in shock after learning about Woods’ accident. The 81-year-old requested people to pray and wish him a successful surgery.
