You’d think that a job like being the Prince of England and heir to the British throne would leave you no time for other things – but apparently, that’s not true. Though Prince William and Kate Middleton have a ton of royal duties to look after, the couple seemingly never shy away from the little joys of life.
Recently, some surprising hobbies of the royal family’s members came to light after Prince Harry was seen juggling in a video. Following that, we discovered that Kate and the Queen both love photography, Prince William is a motorcycle buff, Prince George loves ballet, and Meghan Markle is an excellent calligrapher. What a bunch, huh?
But, what we found common between Prince Charles’, Prince William’s, and Prince Harry’s home is something you’d never have thought: CHICKENS!
What’s Up With the Royals and Chickens?
Apparently, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s home is a real zoo. The family seems to be completely in love with animals.
Wednesday the 29th marked the couple’s visit to the Ulster University’s Magee Campus’s petting zoo during their time in Northern Ireland – and it was impossible to not share family tidbits being surrounded by so many animals.
Princess Kate, 39 and mother to 3 gorgeous kids revealed that the family ended up getting lots of animals during the social isolation period in Anmer Hall. According to the Mirror, Prince William chimed in that they had come to have lots of chickens during the pandemic.
If you sat through the infamous Oprah Winfrey March interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, you’d be smiling right about now. Does “Archie’s Chick Inn” ring a bell? Well, as is public knowledge, little Archie has his own namesake chicken coop, which the world got to see on live television during the interview.
And that’s not all – perhaps this love for chickens comes from none other than Prince Charles himself. As it turns out, the royal heir raises his own chickens to ensure that he always gets the freshest things. And not just any chickens, might we add. He raises prized Maran and Burford Brown chickens.
Animals in the Royal Household
If you thought chickens are the only animals the family of 5 has, you couldn’t be more wrong. Shortly before their longtime dog Lupo bit the dust last year, the family introduced a cocker spaniel to the home.
Apart from that, little Princess Charlotte has a pet hamster she adores because of how its whiskers tickle her face.
Prince George, as Prince William revealed, is obsessed with snakes. And how can we forget the time Princess Charlotte adorably asked Sir David Attenborough, the legendary naturalist, if he liked spiders as much as she does?
