It seems that the lovey-dovey couple, who always looked so happy in each other’s company, wasn’t as much in love as we thought. Yes, they’ve transitioned to the past tense now.

Hadid and Malik have always been in an on-off relationship since they started dating in November 2015, but this time, things have gone a little too far. It seems there’s no turning back for the mushy couple now.
According to various reports from People and Us Weekly, the couple shared a toxic relationship. Malik even had a legal dispute with Hadid’s mother, Yolanda, which complicated the situation even more. Recently, TMZ reported that Yolanda had pressed four harassment charges on Malik, out of which one document reviewed by the outlet showed that the Dusk Till Dawn singer was indeed guilty. However, he pleaded no contest and tried to keep the matter within the family.
When various media houses tried to find out how the equation was among the two while they were dating, shocking things came to light. A close source of the ex-couple revealed to Us that their parting ways is a good thing.
The individual disclosed that they had a destructive relationship, but Malik is great at co-parenting their daughter Khai. A friend of Malik’s also told People that though Hadid and he never fought openly, they had a super toxic relationship. Meanwhile, a family friend of Hadid’s told the same magazine that Yolanda had some issues with Malik and wanted him to treat her daughter better.

While talking to the near and dear ones from both sides, the magazine found out that the couple had split a few weeks ago and that it’s only the news that’s coming out now. A mutual friend of the couple told the outlet that they’ve split for good.
Although Gigi and her family are upset with the way things happened, they are in a better place now. Another close source added that the couple knew they needed some time to work on themselves. But despite knowing this, things became difficult for them because they had to co-parent their one-year-old too. Meaning they had to stay together and be involved in each other’s lives even when they didn’t want it!

Though Malik stated he didn’t want to get involved in a legal fight with Yolanda, it didn’t do him much good. The 28-year-old was fined for harassment and was asked to stay on a 360 days probation period.
