Fourteen years ago, a legendary basketball player met an actress while co-hosting a sponsored Super Bowl party, and they immediately hit it off.
Like any other couple, they went through several highs and lows and emerged as the epitome of lasting love. Any guesses who we’re talking about? Well, it’s none other than Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union!
For over a decade, the duo has been setting couple goals for many, but recently, they have been making headlines for selling off their Miami mansion. According to the Wall Street Journal, the couple has sold the property for a whopping $22 million, however, it was a loss for them as they originally listed it for $32.5 million in 2019.

First, a look at the history
It all started in 1940 when Mel Harris, an insurance executive, built the two-story structure. The house stayed intact till 2006, after which it was expanded. In 2010, Dwayne Wade came across the property and fell in love with how simple it was. He paid $10.645 million for the place and quickly renovated it.
Nine years later, Wade listed the estate for $32.5 million. But after facing issues in finding a suitable buyer, he kept on decreasing the price until coming down to $26.5 million. A few days ago, he sold the property for less than 20 percent of its asking price to an undisclosed buyer.
A peek inside
The Mediterranean Villa-style house sits over an area of 12,000 sq. ft. It has six bedrooms and eleven bathrooms, including a master suite, which boasts a private lounging area, an exclusive deck, and an attached spa-like bathroom. The house is jam-packed with entertainment areas like a rec room with old arcade games, a chef’s kitchen, and a movie room. It also has a home office, wine room, a barbershop, and a bar for the grown-ups.
The outdoor space is no less fancy than the indoors. It has a large swimming pool with a sun shelf, a cabana, and a covered patio for relaxation. Plus, there’s also a basketball court and an outdoor kid’s area with a Jungle Gym (what fun!).
Other property dealings of the power couple
Just after listing the Miami mansion in 2019, Wade and Union bought an estate in the Hidden Hills enclave of L.A. They paid $17.9 million for the three-story house, which has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
The duo even listed their Sherman Oaks property for $6.2 million in 2020, and lately, they sold it for $5.5 million. Though the deal wasn’t great, they didn’t have to bear a huge loss.
