Even today, everyone loves and remembers Princess Diana like she never left. After being tied to Prince Charles, it didn’t take long for her to become one of the world’s most influential people all because of her kind heart and humanitarian work.
When Lady Diana took on her royal duties, she fulfilled them with enthusiasm and passion for the service, which made the people love her even more. Despite facing struggles in her personal life, especially her marriage to Prince Charles.
Gone Too Soon
Unfortunately, Lady Diana’s life was cut short due to a car crash in Paris that took place on 31 August 1997. Given the nature of the entire scenario, it led to its fair share of media coverage and conspiracy theories about the whole ordeal.
Since she was one of the UK’s most celebrated and widely adored royal members, her funeral was televised.
Forever Set in Stone
However, the royal family and the people of the UK have not forgotten the Princess, often by paying homage and tributes in the name of the late Princess. In 2017, a statue was announced by Buckingham Palace as a tribute to Princess Diana, marking her 20th death anniversary.
The Palace stated that the aim was not only to commemorate the 20 years passed without her but also to recognize her work and the positive impact that she had in the UK and worldwide.
Now, the statue is to be installed in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on the 1st of July, 2021. Lady Diana’s fans will be aware that the Princess would have been celebrating her 60th birthday on said date.
Prince Harry Back in England
Despite the whole scandal that took place after the Oprah Winfrey interview, Prince Harry has made it clear that he does not intend to cut ties with the royal family.
After moving to California permanently, the Prince returned to the UK for the funeral processions of his late grandfather Prince Philip while Meghan Markle stayed back in California to care for her 2-year-old and herself, as baby Lilibet was on her way.
With the inaugurated statue, Prince Harry has once again returned to the UK while Meghan Markle stays back in California with their son and infant daughter.
The princes will be joining each other to celebrate and honor the life of their beloved mother.
